Interesting. If you can't buy this as a stock item and it has been designed just for this client, then custom is the correct word. Not sure what you are angry about. I'd love it to be a stock item too but unfortunately it isn't. Price is probably prohibitive.

If something is made specifically for an area, it IS custom made. End of story.

What would you like them to answer?

Why are they troubled people? Even if it's off the shelf from a specialist supplier, its the contractors prerogative to name all their features and suppliers.
