The roof will be a dark grey/charcoal colour. The gutters are an off white colour, windows are white and we have cream brick all the way around. I am unsure what colour to paint it. I want to keep away from green because my house is surrounded by a sea of green. My husband thinks a light grey along with a new timber front door.

There is a lot of paste and size residue still on the walls. Washing and scraping helps but it still feels like it's there. Would a good sanding be sufficent or do I need to wash all the paste off before painting?

Have you tried the Dulux Visualizer. I have used this personally and found it to be quite helpful. It allows you to take a photo of your home and then experiment with different colours to see what works best. Another option you might consider is the Sherwin-Williams ColorSnap® Visualizer app. It allows you to upload a photo of your home and then try out different paint colours and combinations to see what looks best. We have a 1980 home which - in its day - was covered in a plethora of wallpaper . The last owners decided to paint over the wallpaper with a very inexpensive paint (also not the best quality). How can I upgrade the wall - sanding, cleaning, etc … to have the best result? And what type or brand of paint would you suggest? Also, they loved a variety of “whites” resulting in an inconsistent palette! Any favourite white suggestions are appreciated!!
