how many doors and windows, how big are the openings, do you need to eat in the kitchen, what rooms are nearby and do you have to go through the kitchen to get to another room, do you want a fridge and separate freezer and a microwave, how big...lots of questions??
Sue, in line with what oklouise asks, maybe draw up a room plan with one of the online kitchen-design websites (at IKEA, Bunnings, Mitre10, etc.) and post a pic? Even outside of how it'll help people answer here, I've found them very good for planning & visualising in odd spaces generally (eg. kitchenette-with-laundry, pantry).
Thanks Marc will try the websites you suggest, struggling with this small kitchen area after moving from a large house, would so love Ikea to come to New Zealand.
I know the feeling. I'm looking forward to IKEA getting to Canberra so it's only a 5 hour return trip. :)
If it helps, you can probably take any design you come up with at these sites to any kitchen place and they'll be able to do it. Most of the carcasses (the cupboards without doors, drawers, etc.) are the same size everywhere.
