Hi Joanna If your floors are natural timber (Rimu,Kauri etc) then all you need to do is get them sanded and polyurethaned and they will look stunning. Would be a shame to cover with cold tiles. As long as you have insulation (batts) under the house, should be fine. Spend the money getting floors coated properly would be my advice. Good Luck Julie

Apologies if I've not used correct terms but I really like the big molding look - like in picture. My husband is concerned it might be dated and also that with our ceiling height 2.4m it might make the room look smaller. - we would like dark timber floors so I don't think this would be such an issue. would love to hear other people's thoughts. many thanks

Has any one had experience of the pitfalls or success - I would like to know if there's any failures from shrinking or cracking or bowing from expansion? I want to fix directly over a concrete slab thats 10 years old
