Hi I have this area between us and neighbours that i would like to make a bit more 'interesting'. It is not a thoroughfare. The problem is that this area doesn't get any sun for 9 months and the soil is always wet. I was thinking about putting some pavers, but i am not sure if that would be a good idea considering it is mostly wet. i want to clear the tree and other vegetation, but can't do much between the planks and wall as there are many tree stumps alongside the retaining wall that i don't want to remove as it could weaken the wall i have been told. i think i can paint the wall and plank. There is also a drain cover just in front of the tree; there must be a drain underneath to remove rain water from roof , but I will be sure when when i dig. Should i create a slope instead with gravel and sand, but that would mean water flowing into the retaining wall. Any ideas would be very helpful.
