Being on the top floor of a solid double brick apartment building, we had no choice but to keep the existing layout. We also had a tight budget, so this was all done on a shoestring. We kept it simple and cost friendly with a subway tile head to toe and exposed one red brick wall to add character. A custom vanity that was picked up on the cheap and converted to a one of a kind.

Comments (16)The mosaics behind the vanity are called extra light diamond from Rex. I have added the website http://www.rex-cerart.it/en/extra-light/ The tiler will screed the wall in white so no other colour comes through and then use an adhesive in white and then grout. I have sealed the grout also as white grout can discolour. You will see on the website some amazing applications of this little glass mosaic. It looks like you have used the existing windows and joinery , added those white gloss pillar 'covers' to modernise the whole look , and the lattice centre piece not only adds interest , but would also add light around the front door too . It also looks like you have added a garage on the right hand side , all in the same style to tie it all in . Like Courtenay , I love the entrance , although just personally , I would have done the gate in a slightly darker stain -- it looks a bit light ( to me ) in comparison with the shingles , and the painted brick -- especially as the gate will fade , the bricks not so much . Really , my only 'picky' bit . Comments (0)This project required a small renovation, where my clients wanted to create something simple and light, without costing a fortune. In the guest bathroom we were able to leave the plumbing as is and worked on replacing the WC, Shower and Vanity. In the laundry the area in the room behind the counter, storage area was pushed back allowing for a larger space within the narrow room. A new door was put in and a new window. Before: After: This extension of space allowed for the guest bathroom to be extended out as well to allow for a larger vanity and all round larger and more accommodating space. The counter top in the laundry is bamboo, the simple black tiles above and perhaps later down the clients will put up cupboards and shelving as suggested. Before: After: The light grey ceramic tiles on the floor replaced the dark ones that made the space feel small and cramped. The white on the walls and new lighting give a totally different feel to the room and makes it a far more welcoming space to work in.
