Why two sinks?
Comments (6)It's for the separation of clean-up activities from food preparation. Why would you want to rinse your lettuce or any other fresh food in a sink full of dirty pots? It's the result of zoning the kitchen into areas for specific tasks. Rinsing plates and pots, clean-up, the dishwasher, garbage, and recycling can go into one zone, with a sink for that purpose and preparation such as washing vegetables, peeling, chopping and compost collection can be in another area, with a sink for that purpose and the conflicts between the two are reduced....See MoreEverybody has quirky habits, right?
Comments (34)Re plate licking, we were in a fish cafe shop in Carnarvon west Aus, plastic table cloths, etc, the food was amazing, my husband licked his plate and the cook/ chef rushed out of the kitchen and hugged him. As for me I have known to lick a plate but not in a restaurant as yet. I also love getting in pjs in winter as soon as I get home from work and have had a walk and shower. 5pm a good time to be in pjs in winter.talk to my cat like she understands (she actually does) sleep with the cat next to my pillow. It is good that we live in a country where we are all a little bit insane....See MoreNeed help with kitchen design
Comments (11)Here's a couple of ideas that work really well as alternatives to a walk in pantry. They integrate into your wall cabinetry, allowing you to keep central spaces open and free flowing. Using drawers to create a pantry as Esselai suggests. Check out how Harn Triomax soft close drawers are used in just this way. Availble in classic white or metallic grey. Two front to back depth options - 500mm and 5500mm. And 8 drawer width options from 450mm to 1200mm. Alternatively, there are a number of quality pull out pantry options in the German designed and made Vauth-Sagel range. Some are installed with fixed fronts to match your cabinetry, and others are installed behind hinged doors. See below (from top to bottom) the VSA model, DUSA model and HSA model. These all come in a variety of width options and specs, from chromed wire shelves to sold bases with glass panelling....See MoreTwo dish drawers or a full dish dishwasher and a dish drawer
Comments (1)I think you answered your own question. Put the dish drawer in your kitchen island and a full dishwasher in the scullery area of the house you will be living in. Store the big pots that will be washed in the full dishwasher in the scullery area. For the house you intend to sell, I think a full size dishwasher is sufficient....See MoreBookwoman
