Kitchen Reno for Retirement

We have a 1960's 80 square meter house. Facing the wrong way for the sun. We have replaced the roof and 3 windows. We are going to replace water heater, but in will stay in the same place, there is just nowhere else to put it. The original layout has the changes my husband suggested we'd do. 1; Place an opening in the wall for a breakfast bar and to let light into lounge. 2: Put a door next to fireplace and proposed breakfast bar to go to a new deck. I have marked these on the Original floor plan. We are on a tight budget so I went along. When the kitchen maker gave us a hard time and said just knock the wall down I got thinking. Hence the second layout. Open it up, and move the kitchen to the other end of the room. What do you think? I have no dining room hence the breakfast bar idea but I'm not a fan. I like to sit at a table so I have a fold down one. Also on the must have list is a wall oven / microwave cabinet. Easier to see and no bending. I like shiny white cabinets to ceiling and white bench. Our floors will be Rimu (Red Pine) floor boards original to the house. We have a few old pieces of wooden furniture for the house that are sentimental. I am not sure how our furniture will go with a white kitchen. So maybe a laminate wood look bench top. The furniture is close to scale on plans. The orange objects will need to stay. I am hoping someone has some inspiration for me. Thank you.
