I dislike the leather one, not keen on the diagonal wood (top and bottom pic - yes, I think are the same bed) so my preference is for the plain wood against the dark wall. But loose the matchy side tables!

I like the first one - it will go with anything and won't date. I think the second two are a bit boring and old fashioned, whereas the last one is too elaborate.

You have beds for a long time so it is best not to be too gimmicky- choose something with simple clean lines that can change style as your preferences change. Prefer number 3 - but there may be others that work equally well. A plain bed made of good quality wood can be changed up easily with soft furnishings.

Hi Rachael, I like the one with the bedside table and lamp, straight bottom end and long orangy central cushion. I think the similar timber one with the curved bottom end is a bit too elaborate.

I also like the plain wood one - that has the pink flowers beside it. Plain and classy. The chevron ones look a bit overdone and may clash with the designs of some bedlinens.

Love the top one, bottom one is nice but I had a bed with curves similar and found it took up a lot of extra space

What are your bed preferences? Do you like reading in bed, in which case, the timber bedheads may not be ideal (unless you keep plenty of pillows handy to rest against)? Are you comfortable having your feet "enclosed" at the end like with the third bed? Are you happy vacuuming under the bed or would you prefer it to be enclosed underneath so that you don't have to worry about vacuuming under it all the time? I'd give some more thought as to what practical aspects you want from a bed before worrying about the aesthetics.

But, if you're solely concerned with aesthetics, I like the first and last beds.

No.1 and No.4 both seem to be the same bed, just with different side tables? The bed is good - like it - and the bedside tables in No 1 are much better than those in No. 4.

Love No:2 and 3 ... the rest of stripes are a bit too much for me ...

Love the sleigh bed, please advise where I can purchase it from.

Leather will need conditioning to keep it looking good with age.

Wood can always be refinished in the event of an accident.

The sleigh bed is beautiful but its going to be a royal pain changing the sheets.

But, which one makes your heart sing? Because you'll forgive its faults if it makes you smile every time you see it.

Personally, I don't like any panelling that sticks out at the bottom of my bed - I like to be able to just slump on the bed without worrying about hitting a corner or an edge. So if you can find a bed that is similar style as the leather one (with low foot panelling) but made of wood - that will be the one ;)

The first choice is a more casual look and the last is similar, but more formal. Both are quite classic and will last for years. The mattress on the last bed appears flush with the bed so will not be an issue getting in and out of bed i.e. able to easily slide without hindrance. First and last beds have a floating effect (I have a bath with this effect) and it is fabulous look and stops feet getting kicked. Overall I would go for the last one.

No1 bed and No 2 bed are the same bed shot from different perspectives.

I would always lean more towards a timber bed as it wont date as quickly as a leather one. I also prefer the warmth that timber invites into a room. Which is the reason I made my bed from Merbau. A nice dark hardwood that goes with most things.

These images were taken the day after I finished building it and it was put together for the first time. I didn't even let my other half put the bedsheets on.

that is actually a window with blinds at the bedhead too. Just a coincidence that it fit perfectly in the void above the bedhead.

I prefer the 2nd last bed (not necessarily that style) as the lighter timber colour would look better against the dark wall.

I like the first one - has interest but still sleek, I love the last one, but may not suit your modern look

My order of preference

1. Plain wood with pink flowers. Timeless. Go well with any decor.

2. Chevron against the window. Less garish than the sleigh bed.

3. Chevron sleigh bed. Would totally dominate the room and would be easy to get tired of.

4. Leather bed (not in a million years). Thought we left those legs behind in the 60s or 70s??? for very good reason - ugly as.

A sleigh bed out of a solid colour is gorgeous and if you get the right one, is amazingly comfortable to lean against to read in bed.

Definitely the 3rd! Its clean cut & timeless.

Hi there! I know how you feel so this is what I would do....

Choose the bed that doesn't fight with the white shutters eg unfortu ately the leather..beautiful, my choice but the criss cross padded buttoning will have the horizontal stark white shutters above .I would want that stunning leather bed be the hero piece. Personally if possible I would change shutters to black same as wall if they have to be there.

Sorry I'm not answering your question however although it's not my favourite, the plainest wooden style would probably be the easiest (but not the most stylish) choice.

In the bedroom, the most usual space-savers come in the form of wooden storage beds, although you will also find some gorgeous leather beds that also incorporate storage. I would be recommending to go with good quality wooden beds as they are long lasting and durable.

I'd prefer a leather one! Do they change the sizes by order? Need to adjust the similar one with my lovely mattress. Zinus(like here) is the perfect brand. It's strange but we are choosing a bed due to our mattress habits.
