Great house. Personally, I would not paint the brick because it becomes a maintenance problem. I think the current paint scheme is a little busy - maybe that is why you don't like the brick? I would try a cooler and slightly darker brown for the woodwork and a light, warm grey for the windows.

How about these colours: You'll have to google them because I can't seem to upload them for you.

Leave the trim white

What a fantastic architecture. When you do the brick, if you stain it with masonry /concrete stain you won't have the same issues of maintenance as with paint. They will spray it evenly - through you will have to select a deeper color - either taupe (brown-gray) or a straight charcoal. Love your windows and the classic angled railing.

I think a dark gray on the siding will make the orange brick jump even more. What bothers me is the white (railing, fascia, eaves) juxtaposed with the earth toned stuff. So I would recommend camel tones - for the siding - something like http://www.sherwin-williams.com/homeowners/color/find-and-explore-colors/paint-colors-by-family/SW6108-latte/ and the hopsack next darker tone for the garage door. Use the lighter tan for trim that is now white - http://www.sherwin-williams.com/homeowners/color/find-and-explore-colors/paint-colors-by-family/SW6107-nomadic-desert/ Use the darkest tone if you are painting concrete steps.

If you think you will stain your brick charcoal, then the white eaves and trim are probably right, and you may not want to paint it tan now and then go back. If your brick were charcoal, then I would block out the rest in grays and blue grays - leave the white eaves, but take the railing and posts charcoal too. A blue gray door - like sw smoky blue.

I like the scheme you have now. You could go with a light green gray instead of the dark brown for less of a contrast with the brick. Do a darker gray for the garage doors and an ivory for the trim.

I like your painting and your house, shades of Franklin LLoyd Wright. (Blue and blue gray tones will accentuate the red brick, but what's wrong with that if you like it? ) I would keep the basic scheme but lose the white trims, go for wood tones. I'm sure some of our talented Houzz breakers will do some colour comps for you.

i like the facade of your home now. You could go more in the cool tones (like charcoal) if you want a more contemporary looking exterior

Looks like a great house. I do however offer three comments.

a. at the brick walls/handrails at the entry, remove the soldier course of brick and replace with stone caps or painted wood 2"x6" laid flat - please.

b. up on the deck, lay white vertical 1"x1's or 1"x2's (unless you are metric) spaced less than 4" apart from start to end, adding a warmth and simplicity of detail to this busy outdoor room, and also piece of mind for visiting friends with kids and dogs. (Keep them up off the deck so they don't rot and so you can sweep or shovel without being hindered.) Do you get snow downunder?

c. In the rear yard, break up that long vista into separate rooms. You already have the room with a floor - the gathering room, at the far end is your service area, so develop a central garden room to involve your planting, bird bath, etc. separate from the other two - is this the view from your kitchen - bravo.

Appreciate this is an old thread. I’ve come across this after searching for exterior paint with brick. I have a similar brick exterior and would be keen to see what color you ended up painting
