The Hamptons meets Art Deco: Unique Home Transformation

Originally a 1940’s Art Deco home, we have built a major Home Extension and have renovated the existing home. This was a large project that encompassed adding 4 Bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms, a new Hamptons kitchen, and extensive renovation of every aspect of the home.

Features include restoration of the original 1940’s ornate ceilings, cornice and high ceilings throughout. High quality fittings and fixtures were used, including marble in the bathrooms and jarrah flooring in the new areas to match the existing.

A stand out feature of the home is the Hamptons inspired Kitchen. This has a Scullery on the side which provides a full working kitchen. This is fantastic when entertaining, so that the main kitchen can be kept clean as an entertaining zone.

The roof was completely replaced. The new roof to existing and new areas features CSR Monier tiles that look absolutely stunning.

Attention to detail is evident with features such as the new carport the and front fence, where Amerex created matching corbels on both the fence and carport to match the original Art Deco porch to tie these in together.

A bit late I know, just wondering what your old roof was?

    Was it red terracotta tile?

I ask because we are considering replacing the red roof tile on our Art deco home with charcoal grey monier tiles.

    Cheers and thanks.

This house is beautifully decorated - what do you think the most important features are when trying to recreate classic Art Deco style?

I would have to say that retaining existing features is more important than recreating. This is why this particular home is a blend of the two styles. The original art deco has been respected and restored, while the new areas have maintained a classic style with influence from both art deco and hampton styles.
