Can anyone advise the positive and negatives of carpet cleaning steam vs dry? Is one better than the other? Thanks

Steam or Hot Water Extraction. Does the job better on most carpets, in my opinion. Does not include Supermarket/ Bunnings cleaners. They are rubbish. Also rubbish are those who charge 3 rooms for $59 etc. Depends on your carpet fibre .

When I bought pure wool carpet 30 years ago, the carpet seller said to get dry cloning as it's better for the carpet.

I would probably agree that in some cases wool is better dry cleaned. However water does not hurt wool, sheep get wet all the time
