Help configure furniture in our narrow living room!

As part of our apartment renovation, we have switched the dining and living areas (see below floor plan). We've put up a gyprock wall in place of the previous entrance to the galley kitchen (drawn in pen on the plan), and knocked out the kitchen bar to make a new wider, more open entryway to the kitchen.

Now we are having some difficulty deciding what to buy and where to place furniture in our narrow living area (2.9m wide)!

Initially we thought about placing the TV at point "B" (focal point) and a corner sofa at point "D", but we are concerned it will feel boxed in. If we go for this option, any ideas about which sofa style to buy and how to place it?

Alternatively, we are now considering having the TV at point "A" and sofa at point "C" (or vice versa - which one is better?) to have a more open feel. However, our sense is that the distance of 2.9m is too narrow to sit and watch TV comfortably (unless our TV is really small)?

We haven't bought our TV or other furniture yet so we are open to ideas! Floor plan is not exactly to scale so consider the dimensions rather than the drawing...

Thanks!
