Thanks :) All very good points. We thought about having the cabinet doors put in for the fridge but we personally haven't found them to be too practical in the past. Ones we've used haven't seemed to seal so well. We are also planning to upgrade the fridge in the next couple if years. Good thinking about placement of the microwave too. We have a power pack range built into the wall cabinets so unfortunately we can't put the microwave above the cooktop. I like the idea of the appliance cupboard being turned into a corner cupboard, although I'm unsure if that would mean that you then couldn't easily access it from the other side of the bench..? I'm hoping our kids will sit at the breakfast bar and make their own toast etc while keeping out of the kitchen itself.... I also wonder if we should have the wall cabinets all in the same line or if we could drop the usable ones, on either side of the power pack, down further to give us more storage....? And (I promise this is my last dilemma!) does anyone have any ideas on whether to place the 1/4 sink to the left or the right of the main sink? Again it's one of those things that I'm going around in circles about....next to the prep area vs next to the dishwasher.....? ...... Ahhhh decisions, decisions ;-) Thanks again

Here's a couple of ideas that work really well as alternatives to a walk in pantry. They integrate into your wall cabinetry, allowing you to keep central spaces open and free flowing. Using drawers to create a pantry as Esselai suggests. Check out how Harn Triomax soft close drawers are used in just this way. Availble in classic white or metallic grey. Two front to back depth options - 500mm and 5500mm. And 8 drawer width options from 450mm to 1200mm. Alternatively, there are a number of quality pull out pantry options in the German designed and made Vauth-Sagel range. Some are installed with fixed fronts to match your cabinetry, and others are installed behind hinged doors. See below (from top to bottom) the VSA model, DUSA model and HSA model. These all come in a variety of width options and specs, from chromed wire shelves to sold bases with glass panelling.

Hi everyone, Attached are a couple of screenshots of our current pantry and lower level design. What we are currently thinking of changing is moving the restroom further down the corridor to create more of a walk in pantry for additional storage and having a second sink and dish draw on the wall adjacent to where the toilet would be. Issue is that pantry is currently only 1024mm wide (walls are additional). We wouldn’t be looking for very deep storage and it would all be open shelving. The thing we are wondering is 1024mm wide enough or will we have to take a little bit from the kitchen to make it more functional? The main issue with taken more from the kitchen would mean that that piece of wall would not match up with the staircase width which it is currently designed to do. Hi, We are designing a kitchen and have a question. At the moment we have a side by side fridge freezer. We are having a large-ish pantry and are wondering if it would be better to have a seperate fridge in the kitchen for quick access and a stand alone freezer in the pantry. This would give more fridge and freezer space. What are your thoughts on this?
