Hello,

I would like to get advice on SP10 glazing on western wall. This is a kitchen window & butlers.

I have heard that SP10 is more prone to dirt and hard to clean, can anyone verify this?

What would be the best solution to minimise heat going into pantry / kitchen

What are the advantages / disadvantages?

can't comment on the glass but consider highlight windows high up under the eaves or small splashback windows and add external blinds and tall narrow shrubs along the fence for control of strong western sun

SP10 is clear Low E glass. Has a 'metallic coating'. Performs higher than standard clear glass. Many builders call 'SmartGlass'. Not really much more difficult to clean apparently, a little bit more but not that bad if kept clean from the start.

Maybe look at the other SP's available as 10 is clear so perhaps not ideal for western facing. One is grey 'tint' so would knock out the solar transfer.

Why not consider double glazing instead. Get it with a tint (Toned) perhaps. Depends on budget as all these things add up. Discuss with designer or window manufacturer.

I heard that double glazing is not great for direct sunlight heat?
