I have to raise the floor level on a small outdoor patio so a wheelchair has access to the inside and outside.

At the moment the step over the threshold is huge (legal by 3mm!!). I am thinking of a faulse or raised floor above the existing tiled slab. I am also thinking of composite flooring of some sort so it will be maintenance free.

What do you suggest please?

try a deck and ramp built out of modwood or similar composite decking that should be able to sit on top of the tiles and provide a textured no slip surface ...a good handyman or carpenter would be able to build this for you and it would look much neater than the usual add on
