Shared bathroom, doubles as ensuite, long narrow space! Help!
Comments (13)Thanks houssaon and rinqreation! Funny - hubby has the same 2 door hate! It sounds like I'm being outvoted on the shared ensuite idea. :) We've actually been set on both the configurations you suggested, we moved away from yours houssaon because we really wanted to keep a closed off office space (and hubby built the front deck and landing already for the door at the end of the hallway!). And I don't know why we shifted the door on the bedroom back to the same area, I think it was about having easy access to all the kids bedrooms. But maybe we should shift it back as you suggest rinqreation. Joice, the door at the end of the hallway is the front door, the entrance closest to the street, that you would come to first if you were a visitor. Not totally necessary, but we reinstated it before we decided we wanted the entrance up the stairs (middle bottom) which would be under a carport. Thanks for all your input!! It's really helpful to have some unattached opinions. I'm keen to hear from anyone else on the shared ensuite or 2 door hate question! :)...See MoreLooking for help on bedrooms layout
Comments (29)I think the first layout is fine. You might want to consider moving the door for the storage room of the master bedroom so that it opens into the hall. That way the kids can use it for overflow storage. Also, that hallway is big enough that I think it could hold a large armour, providing more closet space. (There's no need to sleep in the same room as your clothes, so long as they're not too far off.) Also, don't forget that while the drawing shows kids in double beds, this need not be the case, so there will be more room for furniture (dressers or whatever) in their rooms. Finally, that step to bedroom 4 will not be odd at all. I've seen it in other homes. It looks clumsy in the drawing but it isn't. What you'll see when you come up the stairs is a bedroom door on a slight diagonal. It's only an odd jagged step if you walk like a robot, in straight lines along the wall, which is what your eye is doing on the drawing but you won't do in real life....See MoreBathroom layout help needed
Comments (4)Do you want this to be a big reno? meaning, will you replace things totally or do you want to work with what you have mostly? will you add a toilet to the bathroom? if you replace the vanity, you can put in a larger one curving around the corner with a medicine cabinet above. If you replace the shower with one flat on the ground, you can also put in clear doors for bigger visual space. how about re-painting as well...See MoreBathroom Layout - advice please
Comments (2)Sorry the main bathroom (beside the lounge area). I have the ensuite sorted. We'd like a bath in the main bathroom, shower, toilet and vanity. Ideally I don't want the toilet on the wall that separates the bathroom and lounge....bit uncomfortable for guests going loo when we are in the lounge watching TV!...See Moreoklouise
