DIY interior wall painting with an airless spray gun

Please vote in my poll below. I have asked specifically about using an airless spray gun to paint walls because I happen to have one. I do not propose to get a compressor-driven air spray gun. We're talking a whole house here, I have no intention of doing it myself with a paintbrush or roller. I just thought that a spray gun might be significantly quicker, such that I could be bothered doing it myself to save cash. If it's a dumb option I will just get a painter to do it. I guess some smart alec may just tell me "there`s a reason why painters don`t use them".

It is smart (saves time and money) to paint interior walls with an airless spray gun.
No, it's dumb.

Its dumb because you need to spend a lot of time masking up everything that isn't going to be painted as there are always fine droplets of paint that drift and cover everything. You can't beat a broad paint roller for speed, especially if you add an extension handle for ceilings. Many project home builders use compressor-driven air spray guns for speed, but all the walls are the same colour and there is a knack to get it looking good.

If you can afford a professional painter there is no good reason to do it yourself.

    Best of luck,
