Bathroom Layout
Below is an almost blank canvas for our ensuite. Not able to move the window or door, which has a barn style opening. The room will have a south facing skylight also.
We think we can fit in a bath, shower, toilet and vanity. Perhaps also a towel storage tower. What, in your opinion guys, would be the best layout?
We live in a cool climate, are rarely in the bathroom at the same time and would like to be able to reach a towel rail (or hook) from inside the shower. Plumbing points are not an issue. In a perfect world it would be possible to turn the shower off and on from outside the spray area. Your assistance would be appreciated.

Comments (10)A small sink would fit in the second floor plan w/c. its 2.8mx 1.4m so definitely enough room. If we use the last floor plan with separate w/c then it opens up the bathroom to be 2.7mx 3.2m which for New Zealand standards is a big bathroom for a shower, bath and vanity. Comments (14)We have a 900x900 shower and it's plenty big enough. Neither of your proposed layouts looks that great, to be perfectly honest, sorry! In the first layout, you could improve it quite a lot by swapping the toilet and vanity (centre the toilet under the window on the bottom right of the picture if possible), and having the shower door on the other wall (beside the door). Then, you could have a towel rail on the wall beside the door (i.e. behind the door when it's open), which would be accessible from the shower but hidden when the door was open. An 800x1200 shower might be a good size for your space. You'd have to choose a toilet that doesn't protrude too far, plus a narrow vanity. With that layout, you could have a long but narrow wall-hung vanity, with a big mirror covering the wall between the windows, which would make the room feel bigger and would give a good amount of storage. Comments (0)Hi, We are building 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms. This is the main bathroom that my four children will use as the other one is my ensuite. It is in-between their shared bedrooms. The bathroom will be 200cm wide not 210. I love the bathroom below and would like to know if its possible in the bathroom dimensions shown. Or will it be too crowded?? A bath is a must to bathe my younger kids in. Is it better to have a shower above the bath instead and have a longer vanity? maybe with a double sink? 4 years agoHi Jan, just throwing my hat in the ring, I was a bit concerned about light in the bath room and then I remembered you mentioned putting in a skylight which is brilliant.
You could have a loo with a view with a clear top panel in the window?
