Exterior cladding, real or fake?

Is weathertex classed as real timber cladding? Property has a convenant requiring external walls of no less than 3/4 consist of Brick, brick veneer or timber materials

Im assuming real timber such as cedar shiplap boards, hardwood weather boards etc would be required.

All homes in this area have this covenant and have real timber exterior finishes.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

J

considering Weathertex comprises of 97% hardwood it arguably complies with the covenant as technically it's achieving greater than 3/4 of "timber materials".... that's the angle I'd take anyway ;) PD

Perfect! Thankyou for clarifying this. Our concerns were a “plastic/vinyl fake product but if it’s real wood then that’s terrific.

Yeah we’re going with the Weathertex Weathergroove in natural finish on the facade of our new build. It is made of real wood. the colour will change naturally as it ages.
