I need help choosing an exterior colour scheme
Comments (8)Hi, I know there are so many things to take into account and it's hard to get perspective from a photo. The white you can see is an extension with building paper, and the red is the existing building which is two story. The exterior is wide weatherboard planking, the windows are silver aluminium with very little trim. The doors in the front of the picture are French doors from bedrooms that will open to an enclosed courtyard ( yet to be built of course) The roof will be a light grey/brown but you won't see it much because of the flat roof style. There will be decking and ballustrades covering half of the new extension....See MoreNeed help choosing a colour for the exterior?
Comments (6)Do you want a crisp modern look? Or somewhat farmhouse, more traditional? Natural look or a color? There really are so many options to limit down to meet your taste. Tell me your plans for the interior, maybe there's some influences/styles/colors you could copy. My personal suggestion would be white. Looks great with grey stone or concrete, looks great with the charcoal. Add some silvered wood. Flowers around the house will have a nice white background. But then again, something like the Sunnycrest Drive below would look amazing too....See MoreWhat colour curtains should we choose?
Comments (12)I'd like to suggest that the most important thing here is more about who is using the room. If It's a child's bedroom use lovely children's curtains - there's so much around and any pattern could pick up the wall and floor colours. If a guest room and not used often I'd suggest a beautiful velvet or good quality Linen and forbid the little ones from going in to that room!!!!!! alternately a blind attached at floor level could be raised or lowered so the view is still there but with privacy from waist height perhaps. Good luck. Bee...See MorePlease help with fabric colour suggestions - been dithering for a year
Comments (30)I am blown away from down under by the help that you all have freely given .... thank you sooo much indeed. who would have thought after a year of anguish that I would be put out of my misery! If I do go for the atlantic for chairs I will bring in plum touches and vice versa. Will now need to go and find some plum that closely aligns with your suggestions. Thanks for saying we can keep table! It is a good solid NZ made oak one ... chairs were all the rage back about 18 years ago! Now need to go! I will put up a pic of a rug that was quite nice but rather expensive so ... might be in an hour or so. Thank you so much again....See Morejulie herbert
