We are going to install a couple of floating timber shelves in our kitchen shortly and wondered if anyone has installed them before?

Would love to receive your advice on the following:

- Height of first shelf above bench top

- Depth of Shelf - I am thinking up to 30cm so it can fit a large plate but a bit concerned about it sticking out too much

- Which thickness did you use?
