Shared bathroom, doubles as ensuite, long narrow space! Help!
Comments (13)Thanks houssaon and rinqreation! Funny - hubby has the same 2 door hate! It sounds like I'm being outvoted on the shared ensuite idea. :) We've actually been set on both the configurations you suggested, we moved away from yours houssaon because we really wanted to keep a closed off office space (and hubby built the front deck and landing already for the door at the end of the hallway!). And I don't know why we shifted the door on the bedroom back to the same area, I think it was about having easy access to all the kids bedrooms. But maybe we should shift it back as you suggest rinqreation. Joice, the door at the end of the hallway is the front door, the entrance closest to the street, that you would come to first if you were a visitor. Not totally necessary, but we reinstated it before we decided we wanted the entrance up the stairs (middle bottom) which would be under a carport. Thanks for all your input!! It's really helpful to have some unattached opinions. I'm keen to hear from anyone else on the shared ensuite or 2 door hate question! :)...See MoreHelp! Comments (7)I really don't see an issue with the rooflines. Looks like the angles are fairly similar and the clean lines of both structures should be easy to coordinate, especially in your open, rural setting. Since you've found a stunning deal, I would say, go for it! I definitely would want to find an architect ASAP and by all means, before you pour the slab, make sure you have a plan to coordinate....See Morebathroom suggestions please - out with the rimu finish
Comments (3)Well you posted this several months ago, but I thought I would make suggestions anyway. Hope you don't mind. In order to stay with or keep in mind the style of the shelves I would first change out the towel rack and TP holder to a chrome, or brushed nickel finish. Or get something that goes with the water faucet on the sink. If you are going to paint the wood around the shower base, paint the window trim and pieces of baseboard that are wood as well. I agree with using a gray color that adalisa, above mentioned. Maybe paint your vanity a darker gray, or even a shade of black, like your shelves to tie it in. That's it for me....See Moresmall bathroom - adding a bath for the kids
Comments (6)I understand your need to bathe your little people but I would not change a thing in this bathroom. What I would do is find a bathing station that could be placed in the shower temporarily until your little folks are no longer little, By the way, bath tubs regardless of the lovely ads that show sumptuous bathing areas as components of enormous and well appointed master bedrooms, are passe. A great idea 150 years ago and for the most part the only reasonable and effective solution. Today, bathing in most homes happens very infrequently and adding a tub to your space would be the tail wagging the dog. Keep the nice space you have created and add a temporary bathing solution.
