Modernising exterior of 90s red brick house

Hi Houzzers,

We're wanting to modernise the facade of our house. Any ideas and thoughts are much appreciated.

We have considered rendering the whole facade and painting a 'white'. But now thinking that may decrease some of the character of the house. Not totally sure though - suggestions welcome. To manage budget and time we are thinking of leaving roof colour green and gutters manor red, but not discounting painting the lot. We will be putting in front lawn where the gravel is.

Any ideas/suggestions/directions for modernising and painting much appreciated. :)

Current thoughts:

- Render out the cream stripe and window sills and paint a mid to dark grey like Dulux Klute

- Paint verandah posts same colour, or a darker grey

- Paint fascia above garage a 'white' like Dulux white swan or whisper white - getting rid of the red accents. Paint front door screen and surrounds same white

- Would like feature colour front door. ? blue/yellow/green

- Paint both front fences Dulux monument (currently mismatched a green and a cream)

- Painting roof of front window and over arbour monument with the posts white/grey?

- Get concrete painted maybe charcoal/grey but don't want to end up too dark and gloomy

Current windows are cream aluminium may not be able to be changed easily.

Thanks heaps in advance for any ideas. There are lots of houses similar to this in our area, but none have been updated yet.

Cheers :)
