Hydronic heating and high ceilings

Hi there!

i was wondering if anyone can share their experience with hydronic hearing in homes with high ceilings?

I'm in Melbourne, so a cold-ish winter climate, and planning a renovation of a 1890s Victorian with 3.8 metre high ceilings. We have an extension on the back and are planning to add tall glass sliders and a large servery window (both double glazed) out to the yard and create an open plan kitchen, living and dining in that area. The floorspace is about 60 square meters.

My builder is trying to steer me away from hydronic heating, He says it doesn't work very well, but all the research I've read so far indicates it is the most effecitive and efficient for houses with high ceilings. Do you have any experience with hydronic heating? Would love to hear your views on best ways to heat this rear section of the home, (BTW, rear section is north facing, with solid timber floorboards).

Thanks so much for any advice you might have!
