Looking for some advice on how to decorate my hallway. Would like a console or somewhere to dump keys, wallets, shoes, etc. But not sure where to put it without it feeling out of place?
Hi Kirsty,You could use black to highlight that fabulous door handle, it doesn’t necessarily need to be a table, a wall feature could look very stylish also, you could use small containers to hide your keys etc.
hmm that's a very tricky space. You nighthave to have a wall mount shelf and some hooks opposite the cupboard doors
Can I just ask how useful the hall cupboard is? Because if it's not great I'd consider taking doors off, putting a bench seat across and hooks above as a recessed drop zone

Need your help for short & narrow entry hallway
Bland entrance way :(

What a lovely blank canvas. I’d place it opposite the double doors. Probably one with open legs would suit. You’ll need a narrow-ish depth but still a decent width or it’ll look dinky.
The double doors open into our garage, so they’ve got to stay.
Thanks for the suggestions! I love these two consoles!
Do you need the double doors to garage. If a single door would work you could reframe it to use the cavity space for storage to reduce intrusion into hall
I'm not sure what the cupboard there is for but this is perfect for dumping shoes and jackets etc to keep the hallway clear. Something small like a wall hung shelf or slimline sideboard on the left by the door could work but it's hard to tell without measurements. It is best to put keys etc somewhere further in the house than clutter a hallway. In regards to decor a large piece of art would look amazing centred on the right. Try and find something that sets the tone for the colours of the house or go for a statement piece, pick something that makes you feel good so entering and exiting the house is a positive experience.
looks like it's not a cupboard but garage entry. whoops that won't work.
is there a laundry in front of garage?I'd create a drop zone there (or inside your garage) and keep you hallway clear. maybe am enormous mirror (except it would reflect garage doors so less than ideal)
The hall table is easy on where to put it . Under the stairs . So you ( or family members ) can leave dirty or even security items , out of sight .
Did you consider doing something in the hall -- an abstract painting or 2 ? It's a relatively new concept called colour , but some more courageous people are finding it looks slightly different to white , or white , or white , or even black . Haha . The one thing that shows some thought -- the ( almost certainly imitation ) wooden floor panels -- you know you need something when the most positive thing said is about the floor !
A painting on that large white wall can be bought probably as cheaply as painting or wallpapering that whole wall ( especially with the 'challenge' of having to continue upstairs , or making some kind of differentation -- basically two-toning the wall ) . You may even make money on a painting ( you probably won't ) ; you look a bit cultured ( although it hasn't worked for me , and I must have 50 ! ) ; and real easy to change if you get bored or even change your lounge suite , kitchen appliances , a rug or whatever is in surrounding rooms .
