The door into ensuite currently opens in (hinged on left). Im thinking we will need to use a cavity slider door (which means shifting the bedroom light switches!) This project is growing!

Hi Nic, I've been stuck with shower-over-baths in a few rentals and they can be slippery death traps! They also get grotty in summer with bare feet, post beach showers etc which limits usage as a bath anyway. If your kids are old enough I'd go for just a nice big shower area or a separate shower with a compact freestanding bath if you can fit one. If your kids are little or the above won't work for you here's some tips to make a shower over bath safer and easy to use: - Pick a bath with an absolutely flat bottom and anti slip texture at the shower end (those suction anti-slip mats are worse than useless). - Position the shower screen so that you can step straight onto the anti slip part. - Make sure the bath edge is low enough for the kids to enter end exit easily. - A hand held shower head that can move up and down would be a nice addition. You are so right white is never out of fashion. I would set your budget and then look at your options. If you plan to stay in the house for many years then spend to the top of your budget (if that is going to give you a life time of pleasure), if you plan on being at the home for only a short time / few years then I would go mid range so it looks lovely, will have good resale value but you can invest your well earned money to go towards something else as well. Obviously Marble / Granite is the top of the range but there are so many cheaper and very attractive options these days that look just as good.

Hey Guys I'm a newbie I've decided to slowly paint and change a few things in my Nan's house in hope's of transforming it and making it less of an eye sore Never done anything like this before , but love a great transformation. And thought this be an awesome project for myself. I am starting off with the bathroom, I will attach some photos of it currently, I was looking at warm greys for the walls , ceiling possibly white-ish but need more suggestions on colours , as I completely stuck as this anything would be helpful will probably paint first, then do flooring , then vanity?? And what's the best paint/brand to use? Thanks
