Elizabeth can you add all this lengths to your plan for us.we need internal room sizes plus internal wall thickness.

Just take measurements from wall to wall and mark doors and windows if you can thanks

Where is north on the plan?

The most important thing, in terms of comfort & energy efficiency (think bills), is getting the orientation right.

This means locating the living areas to the north. Where they'll be light, warm in winter, shaded & cooler in summer. Locating bedrooms to the south & east. Limiting windows to the west, locating rarely used spaces, like the garage, laundry & bathrooms on this side of the home.

Designing a home to these principles is called "passive solar design".

Thanks all for the suggestion, the plan of the house is kinda fixed now so cant add any structural changes.

Need interior design help to make the indoor space functional and nice, like where best to put dining table, or sofa and so on

But if we do not know the measurements of the space, we all would be only guessing on the best way to use the space.
Just, for instance, is the hallway a metre wide? If yes, then the measurements for the area can be worked out.

an approximation of dimensions suggests that the current dining room is the best place for a table and a simple door across the hallway would add extra privacy from the front entry

Do you already have the furniture? If so , then you could wait until you move in and then change the pieces around to suit .

Wait until the plaster goes in, then you will have a better feel of spaces

A house of this size doesn't need or have the space for a WIP, use that as much needed floor space

Hope you don't mind me using your floorplan OKL, I just wanted to show how by removing the WIP and replacing that with a wall of Pantry storage allows the floor space needed for the WIP to be used in the kitchen family room and making the family space larger

Has building started ? Is the floor laid ? Is finance fully committed ?

Just at a quick look , and without knowing any more information , I would have tried to 'move' Bed 1 and 4 about 1.5-2.0 metres further forward ( right on your plan ) -- that would have moved the wall that your pantry and linen is in , in line with the garage wall . That offers several advantages -- your kitchen moves too , your lounge then doesn't feel like it has a kitchen intruding , and your dining room is not only bigger , it doesn't have a linen cupboard jutting into it .

It may not be possible for practical or monetary reasons , but it seems way more logical to me .

Hi all, thank you for all your great input, it will be great if I know this forum sooner, but anyway as oklouise got it right, the plan cannot be changed as it went throught the council and it will cost me too much (monetary and time ).

At the moment, I'm just trying to make the plan it as comfy by getting right furniture and placing it at right places

I don;t know that council would worry about removing part of a wall between the kitchen and pantry? which will allow you better space for furniture, we still need dimensions to show how furniture will fit the floor plan

If that pantry wall is not a supporting wall , then it should not be relevant to your approvals. In Brisbane it does not . We have two walls in my place that are not supporting and according to our architect we do not need council approval an external wall addition does .A new build we will start next year has been through DA and BA , and the final decision on some internal walls won’t be made until just before the plans go to the builders . The arrangement of your furniture will depend on its size as well as the room . Do you have it already ?
