I love the color you have on the wall by the patio doors. I'd go with that all over if you want the space to feel warm. Or, if you want the rooms to feel cooler, you may want to go with sky blue or a calm green. The right shade of green brings in your outdoor plants, which looks very nice when you are looking out through the windows. Your flooring would look fine with any of these choices. Grey is another color to consider. I personally do not like it, yet is is quite popular now, especially with contemporary interiors.

I don't think white picket really goes with your homestyle. you can keep it reasonable by only doing the side to the left. I have included some other types of fencing that might work better for you. Just to give an idea and there are even more on house. Of course, just plants are always great too. or you can start with fence til plants grow.

I meant to say if we clad in dark blue board and batten from ground level up to floor level of deck. I think if that side wall is all light coloured silvered cedar, the house will look mammoth. Ugh! The black stuff going down the side wall on an angle is water protector. It will be covered by whatever cladding we go with.

What do they want to achieve , and what is their budget ? just to get ideas rolling , if it was my place , I would offer the following -- -- the garage looks a a different style and different shade of grey . I'd repaint in the same grey . -- I'd paint the front door in a brilliant red , and the narrow garage door surrounds in the same colour -- tie it in a bit better . -- 'Hide' the four flaxes the same shape and colour ? I'd add 3 or 4 tall or bright easycare plants -- a cactus , a yukka , a native , get some variety , maybe even remove a flax or two . -- I'd add a couple of big 'egyptian' pots , at least 800mm wide and at least a metre tall , one each side of the driveway ( on the grass ) , placed so they look random . Fill with a mix of plants of your choice -- at least some in red shades to tie in with the front door . -- I'd price a light covering of tar / asphalt over the driveway , to tidy it more . A good start on a budget , hopefully under $10K ?
