Can you do a simple sketch to confirm where the doors are located, and which door is to outside and which door goes into house/hallway. You said the doors, on both sides, but are they opposite or diagonal???? Are they on the long wall or short wall??

There is a powder room backing onto one side from the hallway so I can’t move it to be more like a galley

is this an existing laundry or a plan for a new building? where is the plumbing and is there a window and what size?

New laundry in a fully home renovation, moving it and the location of taps and drain has been left up to me, once I find a suitable plan. No window as the external door will be glass.

Attached are my thoughts. Issue is the corners. I have attached photos that show good use of corners.
In my sketch I have cupboards with bench with overhead cupboards in one corner, and bench with overhead hanging in other corner.

If you are not having a window then there are lots of layout possibilities. I did my sketch on the assumption that you were having a window next to the door.
However, I would recommend a window for fresh air, or are you having a glass door, that can be left open, with a security screen door?

This is without a window. You could have sink and full bench with overhead cupboards on shorter wall. Under bench washer and dryer.

There will definitely be a security screen door so air can get in, there is a skylight as well. I like this layout with lots of bench space. My washing machine is a top loader, I’ve had a front loader and hated it so top loader for me, with a dryer above or beside it. I appreciate the input as I need to get the layout correct and maximise the storage. 😊
