Comments (19)Hello, I don't what to say, I'm really surprised by your generosity and how much time you have put in this for me you. Thank you so much. The kids bathroom design is still up in air too. Their rooms will have windows of course ( silly me ). I love what you have done with the family room. I'm not so sure about the master ensuite. We copied it from the Hyatt hotel where we stayed a couple of months ago( they had 2 sinks though), we loved the fact that the whole family kids adults and pets can take a shower bath together. That's why we liked the tub bath combo enclosure. Your comments about the steam and aroma are very valid that's why I think we will need to have 3 extract fans in there. We are currently living in china but we will be done here within a year. Thanks again for your help....See MoreNeed urgent help with floor plan!
Comments (8)Just wanted to post the most recent plan that incorporates all of the suggestions that I have received from the very helpful people on the Internet! Changes made: - added an extra bathroom on far left of the house near kids bedrooms - changed the toilet/main bathroom to move the shower over to the toilet room so that we could have 2 separate kids showering at a time (without coming into our room - although that remains and option) - moved the door to the library so that it doesn't look into the toilets/bathroom - optimised the space in our bedroom by moving walk in closet and bathroom around. This modification even allowed us room for a tub in the bathroom a so thankful for that suggestion! Now we just have to find room in the budget lol Questions: - when you walk into a bathroom, do you prefer to walk into a shower (from the door) or into a toilet? What would you prefer visible from the door itself? Logically you are going to use a toilet 9 times out of 10 so you would think that should be there first, but there is something odd about walking past a door and just seeing a toilet there... Thoughts? - is there enough room in the 2 bathrooms we created by joining the toilet and main bathroom? Dimensions are 3m by 2m (roughly) and with a shower coming out about 1m and the vanity about 550mm, that leaves more or less 1.45m to walk around, surely sufficient? If there are any other suggestions or thoughts on what you would do if this was your home we would greatly appreciate the feedback. Thanks you all so much in advance!...See MoreNew Home Floor Plan
Comments (4)my suggestions has the central entry and a small study off the living room...(twin desks provides more counter and wall storage and avoids sitting face to the wall) there's a generous laundry mudroom with direct external access, a bathroom with separate powder room, more space in the master suite with the window offsett for furniture and more privacy from views across the courtyard and reversing the wiw and ens allows for morning sun in the shower and the wiw creates a sound barrier against the guest room.. adding furniture helps suggest room sizes and there's various setdown spaces and extra storage throughout the house ...luckily there's plenty of room for more than minimum offsets to create a garden, alfresco, courtyard, screened spa room, entry, kitchen and laundry porches, garden sheds and drying areas and careful choice of building sizes allows for a neat gable roof with the extended eaves and a hip roof over bed 3 keeps the whole roof simple and economical to build...See Morehow can I improve my built in wardrobe facade in the master?
Comments (5)What are the other colours in the room ( curtains , bed spread , rug , any art , etc ? ) , and are you happy with them ? Are you quieter people , or more outgoing ? Theres so many different things you could do , but you'd want to get the overall room looking consistent . The floors , as they are , look nice ; the handles are 1990's generic , and like you , I'd change , but even things like the other wall look a bit plain from the bit I can see . You may have art on that wall , but just what I can see i'd add a small picture there , and go to a hardware shop and look at handles and buy what YOU want , not what someone here says , or what a salesperson says is hot right now . If you are thinking similar to me , as far as gold half circle handles , if you mean those ones maybe 200 x 100 and 30mm 'wide' curves -- they need to make a circle IMO , so they'd only work properly where there are 2 close to each other , up the 'middle' . Also , they feel more like what you'd have in a bank , or maybe a 3 1/2 star hotel . Just my thoughts . Oh , and they also feel a similar age / era as the ones there ! As far as colours , you could do a feature colour , or bold wallpaper , or leave it as it is ( if it's in okay condition ) . But just what I can see , I'd do the skirting and frames in a sharper white -- it looks like one bit has been done like that , but its not consistent . So a bit of a non-answer , but on the info and photo , I wouldn't even want to guess what you should do ....See MoreDr Retro House Calls
