Dune is fine. It’s all so hard isn’t it there are just room many choices

I like Monument COMPLEMENTING lighter colours , just my personal opinion . I wouldn't do the whole window frame , or the front door , in Monument as a first choice -- whilst bigreaders pics look okay , if a bit too dark and 'blend in with everyone else' for my taste .

I guess the first question -- are you changing the roof tiles , or recolouring them ( i.e. what is their condition ? ) .

I'd tend to stick with a mid to darker red on the roof , whether you change the tiles to more tiles or longrun , or clean the existing ones , obviously the same on the canopies over the windows . The gutters could be monument , or crisp white . IMO it all ties in with the bricks , the front fence and the driveway .

The gables I would go an English Cream , but 'your' Dune would work with one proviso -- the ( 2? ) vents or windows on the gables , I'd do in a bright red againt the English Cream , but with dune you'd pretty much have to do them in crisp white .

Me -- I'd do the windows in crisp white , the sills in bright red , the front door in bright red , BUT window sills in Monument ( if you did the gutters in that colour too ) would tone it down and tie it in too , just add the bright red door for interest , and to emphasis the roof and bricks .

Oh , and as far as modern ( aside from the obvious that it isn't and never will be and shouldn't be IMO a 'modern' house -- i.e. embrace it for what it is ) I'd trim the old tree , and add 'modern' flaxes and cactii and red toned spiky and leafy green plants , maybe against white stones or river pebbles or similar . But I'd also do a couple of older style tall skinny conifers as a reference point , then maybe mix it up with a large red toned pot somewhere near the front door -- easier to change gardens as the years roll by , than it is to upgrade a currently trendy paint choice . . . . . . . . . .

This would be my choice combination, maybe even lighter grey for the windows , it always looks a lot different outside in the daylight.

I'm going to express an unpopular opinion here. But these homes need the courtesy of sympathetic paint schemes. They will never be modern, they are character homes. Sometimes the architecture will dictate to a certain degree the scheme.

I personally would not go monument on any large sections of trims. It's designed to be used sparingly, not as an overall scheme. I really hope you are in a cold climate if you plan to put a black roof on your home. I know it's fashionable in the US and europe but we have no climate zones in Australia that are anywhere near as cold as those places. Their summers are akin to our winters.

Anyway best of luck with your choices. Exterior schemes are notoriously tricky to get right. Accordingly I'm not going to suggest any specific colours. I think you might do well to consult someone who specialises in character homes.
