Laundry to bathroom conversion
Hi
i want to convert existing laundry to bathroom which can connect through existing wardrobe in bedroom .
i have to think of many things here, there are two doors and one door opening. And not sure of load bearing walls or not. Just want to get shower, toilet and wash basin.
any suggestions and ideas please. Very tight on budget as I have to clean the slate later down the line in 5 years and rebuild on block.
laundry has hot water and cold water connections. Attached the plans as well, please suggest

Comments (5)Could you put the laundry behind doors so that you won't see it with the walk through...by the way...I am just over the water in OZ, know what you mean by costs... will get some pics....this would be my option...just going on what you are saying.... The good thing about this is that you can shut the laundry away except for when you are washing...... I would have the washer with the dryer next to it if you can and put a bench over the top of the both of them....for this it is worth getting a front loader if you haven't already got one.. this will avoid the bench on the other side...it can all be contained and done on the one side of the laundry. Don't go for sliding doors ...the glass look great but they will need a bottom track and if they don't have one...they will move a lot....not great for this even though they look great. As for having the bench over the top of the washer and dryer, you can then have overhead shelving, does not need to be cupboards as the bifolds will hide what is in there...double cost other wise. hope this helps...Robyn...See Morewashing area in bathroom
Comments (9)It will be a very tight fit, but if you purchase a prefabricated - very small shower - it might work. The shower would have to be 36" wide with a corner entry, but I don't know how much room you have next to the toilet......? It's tight. so I am not sure about the width of the shower. You will have to measure the space. The stacking washer and dryer would be freestanding next to the shower at 24" wide. Comments (0)This project required a small renovation, where my clients wanted to create something simple and light, without costing a fortune. In the guest bathroom we were able to leave the plumbing as is and worked on replacing the WC, Shower and Vanity. In the laundry the area in the room behind the counter, storage area was pushed back allowing for a larger space within the narrow room. A new door was put in and a new window. Before: After: This extension of space allowed for the guest bathroom to be extended out as well to allow for a larger vanity and all round larger and more accommodating space. The counter top in the laundry is bamboo, the simple black tiles above and perhaps later down the clients will put up cupboards and shelving as suggested. Before: After: The light grey ceramic tiles on the floor replaced the dark ones that made the space feel small and cramped. 3 years agomy suggestion would be to create a small master suite for yourself with space for a stacked washer and dryer accessed from the hall and allow the biggest bedroom for your parents and they share the main bathroom with any children
all the plumbing and waterproofing and tiling will have to be rearranged anyway so there'e not much extra involved in swopping the pipes to the other side of the room and this allows just enough space for a washing machine ..HU-719586245 thanked oklouiseHU-719586245
