Exterior White for Rendered House

Hi All,

Anyone have any suggestions for exterior rendered house? Just getting organized for september when it fines up and the painter starts working.

I've narrowed it down to a warm white, not sure how good these looks externally

Currently

Natural White

Snowy mountains half

White Exchange Half

Here is a render,

Gutters and Windows frames will be black.

For those in Perth there is a bakery across from hyde park a similar white to that would be great....

Too white in my opinion . Go creamer , even a slight butterscotch shade , as opposed to a yellow or beige -- that has been done to death for 50 years . A softer tone will blend in more and not show dust or even light greenness as much . The great chimney stone will look a bit harsh against white too .

A commercial design , especially retail like a bakery , wants to stand out and even look 'clean' , with residential you want to look great but be a tone or two less IMO .

I love the black and white look. The bakery has the right white. If you go too stark it can look blinding. You are going to have to try some samples for your area and light. I do love Natural white. If you try it and it’s too creamy, try White on White.

Do you have any photos of the front of the house that may give us a better view of the green trim? Have to say that painting costs so much and lasts just so long, you may want to wait until it's needed.

I understand going with the grey since it is an 80's style house. You could also do bright bold colors. I do not know if that is your style. I have attached a quick rendering of the gray scheme you mentioned. I prefer light colors above dark colors. This keeps in theme with the sky and earth. Makes the house seem more grounded. The dark entry also draws your eye to it especially with the light coming from the other side of the house. I have also attached a quick rendering of a blue scheme. It looks like you are on a beach and I thought this would blend in with the surroundings. If that is what you are seeking. Hope this helps.

The setting is quite tropical, so a darker scheme with white trims has such a tropical holiday feel. You may consider using a concrete face brick for the lower section. This will be modern, and eliminate the need for painting, while still creating contrast with the upper level. I would look at colour samples next to actual sample of the schist to be used. Take that to a local paint/render shop and look at them together. Looking at your image, the schist looks to be a golden schist rather than a grey. Is this just the way it has been shown? I would check with the suppliers for the actual colour of stone to be used as there are a lot of possibilities and the colour will affect your colour choice for the plaster. Keep in mind that depending on your render system, you may be even more restricted in LRV, as some systems require an LRV of no less than 40%.

I have Snowy Mountains Half on the trim inside my house. It’s a lovely shade of white but I agree too bright for outside. Have you looked at Surfmist?
