why are you making the new window so tall and narrower than the door and why transluscent instead of clear glass louvres and will the solid door always be open to block light from the new window? what is the length and width of the laundry? please post a plan showing location of windows, doors and adjoining rooms

To save on costs we are fitting the old door space with the closest size standard louvre. They are translucent as it's a second bathroom with shower and toilet. The solid door will be mostly closed. I could potentially make this a translucent glass as well. Area is 2.3 x 3.2. Existing plumbing is on right wall with shower in the back right corner (opposite current window, back of room) Thanks for your help.

Also the door could open other way into room but I wanted cabinetry fit out all down that side

i'm wondering if you could have a shorter louvre to match the height of the other window, keep the dog door in the laundry and have the sink in the corner to avoid blocking the original window and the stacked washer/dryer between the toilet and sink and the door opening either way??

I love this idea and it really solves my problem of not having to move plumbing and keeping the window! I was just worried about the stacker feeling heavy in the middle of the room? And is the door opening into the room like that ok to get around with washing etc? Thank you so so much for your help! Just having a clear floor plan really helps too!

i was thinking that the stacked washer/dryer would create some separation between the bathroom and laundry ends of the room and the door could open either way but do you really need to change the back door?...maybe try the new room without removing the back door and decide if the old back door needs to go after you've lived with it for a while
