Before & After: A dated bathroom

New Zealand has a large number of iconic ex-state homes of the 1940's, 50's & 60's, widely appreciated for their 'good bones' and solid construction from native New Zealand timbers.

Kitchens and bathrooms were often positioned to utilise the available space rather than for functional or aesthetic considerations, making them very popular areas for home-owners to add their own design style and improvements into.

After three years of considering the bathroom make-over, our clients met with us at the regional home show, and shortly afterward, we were able to get their ideas visualised into a bathroom concept plan. These clients were absolutely the stars of their own renovation, selecting fittings that were both beautiful, and practical for the available space.

The shower area of the room is luxurious for the space it offers, but even more so for the dual slide rail showers and the overhead rain shower. The floor tiles provide a rustic impact, which is complemented with more understated yet elegant grey wall tiles & feature mosaic. Stone topped storage & vanity furniture, underfloor heating, feature strip lighting, and a demisted mirror all add to the ambiance of the bathroom.

This has been one of our favourite bathroom projects, and it has all come together to create a room that just brings a smile to your face. Well done to our fantastic clients!
