I am looking at extending out ( pushing out a wall, and adding window and skylights) and renovating our laundry, to become a fully functional family laundry mud room. Where do I start. Do I need a builder, architect, laundry specialist designer ???
Why don’t you post a plan of current house, with lot dimensions and north point and any things you think a designer should know. We can give you a heap of ideas and help you work out your priorities. A builder or architect will depend on complexity. I did an extension with just a builder who had a draftsman draw up my plan with a few improvements suggested by builder. But I had a simple roof system and clear idea of what I needed and my space and no tricky issues or non standard design. If this is not you then an architect can be worth the money.
Get advice from people on here but do seek a builder, they arrange all the necessary people to get the job done on your behalf. Have a clear idea of what you want when seeking one out.
