I am having solid timber flooring laid on concrete in all non-wet areas of a new villa. Should the kitchen cabinetry be laid first or the spotted gum hardwood timber flooring?
Depending on your budget to allow for more flooring, I would always put floor down across space, then cabinetry on top of flooring. This is because, in the future, if yourself or new occupants want to change the kitchen layout, then the flooring will not need replacing. However, most builds do install cabinets, then put flooring around the cabinets. It is a timing. trades people, are held up by putting the floor down first.
It depends whether it is a floating floor or fixed to the sub floor. If the floor is floating then it needs to expand so shouldn’t be installed under the cabinets as the weight of the cabinets could prevent it from expanding.
