I gather these are not built-in wardrobes ? These would be more for older places that have no permanent wardrobes .

Basically , it would come down to their intended use , and your preference .

Marine ply may be able to be varnished or stained , to match the rest of your ( wooden ) furniture , but by your description , these are both marine ply on the exterior . That doesn't paint all that well from what I have found . Laminate on the inside sounds smoother .

But if it is an older house , older manrobes or similar may suit the style better , but then you'd have to research costs and borer and styles .

I'm pretty sure you can get fabric ones with a light frame too .

But the best one would be the one YOU prefer .
