Help with what to plant in garden bed

Hi!
Novice gardener here, hoping to get some advice. My garden is in desperate need of some loving and I’m looking to start a great garden bed. Hoping for a bit of colour and with things that aren’t too tricky to keep alive.
I’m based in Melbourne and my backyard is east facing (so we get the morning sun).
I’ve included an image of the garden bed, at the back I’ve started growing some star jasmine and I also purchased some English lavender although unsure if it will work here (you can see it in the pots). I’ve been looking at Murraya and astromelia to add in with the lavender - will this work / be too much? Or are there other things I should look at?
Appreciate any advice!
