It really is personal preference.
The set up is good for ease of access to the young children's bedrooms from the master. The middle of the night run up the straight hallway for when children are unwell or having a bad dream.
However when the three children are older, say 12, who is going to be put in the front bedroom. This front room is ideal for a study, but is disconnected from the bathrooms. So if in the future the children require their own rooms, that would be a hassle.

You could convert the front living into a master bedroom, and use the back room as a playroom for the children. Then down the track the children could have their own rooms at the back, and you have your privacy at the front. Keeping the bedroom at the front as a study.

it's not like the other bedrooms are on the street. I don't see it as an issue at all.

this is a great plan for a family with kids and if you prefer the thee kids bedrooms grouped with the master you could easily add a hallway through bed 3 and close off the hall doors to bed 4 without any major structural changes and/or if you wanted to use bed 3 as a playroom or kids 'lounge you could still add the door to bed 4 and close off the access to the entry hall and have two kids share one of the bedrooms.

I'm always banging on about orientation & how this effects comfort & energy efficiency.

North facing living areas will be bright, warm in winter & shaded in summer (by appropriate length eaves). While south facing living areas will be dark, & cold in winter. Any rooms that face west can get very hot on summer afternoons/evenings.

So coming from this perspective, a block with a northern frontage, such as this home, is less than ideal. The garage will block much of the valuable northern light. So it's very difficult to face much of your living areas to the north, & any rooms that face this way will face the street, so may lack privacy.

For any blocks with either a northern or southern frontage - which aren't extremely wide - a high proportion of rooms (& windows) will face east & west, a lower proportion facing north & south.

This is the opposite of what is ideal. Not only because there will be little northern light. But also because eastern & western sunlight is difficult to shade, the sun being low in the directions.

So this orientation makes thing tough for this home. But they've done a pretty good job, getting the most out of this situation. Locating some living areas facing north. Locating the bedrooms to the east, where they'll get cool morning sun, not hot afternoon summer sun - the only here is the western window in the master, a southern window would be a better idea. The problem is, with a block (& house this shape), something has to face west. In this case is the living areas. So they could get very hot on summer afternoons.

It's hard to tell, just with a floorplan. Are these western windows large, letting in a lot of summer heat, or are they small? What's to the west, is there any shading? If you were lucky enough to have a stand of very large trees to the west this could greatly reduce this problem. Also this advice is very climate dependent. In most of Australia, western summer sunshine
it's very undesirable. But in cooler areas like parts of Tasmania or the alpine, it's not quite so bad.

Not answering your question at all I know. But coming from a different perspective, to help inform you about all aspects of a future home 😁

Oh, & if that pergola has deciduous plants, like a climbing vine, this will greatly help with summer shading in the dining room.

thanks ddaroch, you raise good points.. its a corner block with large windows letting it a.lot.of light. the front lounge facing north has many windows and the living room at the back also has big windows. the master room has window.on yhe side because ot overlooks the swimming pool. unfortunately not a lot of shade outdoors. perola is covered but thats about it.
