Exterior paint colours for our house
Comments (2)This just popped up , but I see it is quite old . Did you decide on paint colours ? The roof looks almost a brown tone in the photos , but you say it is dark grey . I assume you don't want to paint that ? If you do , go more charcoal IMO . If you don't , I'm assumimg it will look several shades darker with your wall colour choices . There is a roller door on the garage that appears to be a nice shade of orangey yellow . Personally , I would go with your colour choices , but do all the doors ( roller doors , wooden doors ) and gutterings in that ochre shade . Your terrace I would do in a charcoal , but with the top rail either in the orangey yellow , or a really crisp white . I know that sounds a bit 70's ( although they would have added a lot of ranch brown back then haha ! ) but against the light grey I suspect it would work together well , and look the part ....See MoreChallenge: Unusual splash back layout...
Comments (3)The taupe countertops are nice. Have you seen all the new choices of backsplash tiles that are available currently? There are so many beautiful ones, there isn't a need to settle on white subway tiles. Venture out to the big box stores or flooring showrooms and take a look... There are tile caps of all sizes to finish off the ends. A nice one is called a tile liner, and it's about 1/2"-wide. There's also metal strips that can be laid in to finish the tile, it looks very nice. They are called: Schluter Systems 0.375-in W x 98.5-in L Aluminum Commercial/Residential Tile Edge Trim and can be found at Lowe's. They come in different colors....See Morewhich exterior colour look best?

Comments (1)Personally , I think the main colour is fine , the crisp white on the poles and most of the terrace is fine -- the two different 'sandy khahki' shades ( the window surrounds , and the planter ) looks out of date . I'd do both of them in charcoal , as well as the terrace base board and the upstairs downpipes . It looks like the barge board and the veranda are already a charcoal -- if not , then darken them up too . The mid grey on the steps etc is fine as is , it's hard to see in the photos but the front door looks like it might be a nice solid wooden one -- again , thats fine to me , but I'd do the door surround in a crisp white to make it more noticeable . The other brighter option would be to do the window surrounds , the door surround , the top barge board including the gables , the terrace base and probably the terrace top rail -- all in a bright sunshine yellow !...See MoreRalflo
