How do I design my living room around this chandelier?
Comments (22)As chookchook said in her recommendation about painting, put a drop cloth on the floor. Get a very safe ladder. remove the lightbulbs, and cover the outlets. Turn off the electricity to the chandelier. Then spray it with a mild cleaner (I use one I found at Target that's basically water with vinegar, until it's dripping wet. Start at the bottom and work your way up, so you don't have dirty spray dripping on the bottom of the chandelier.Work your way up and down until the dripping spray is clean. The chandelier may be gorgeous and expensive, but it seems totally out of place in the architecture of the room--more at home in a chalet than a sunny room with a window wall. I would probably try to find a way to get it removed, and sell it to someone who appreciated it better than I....See Morei need help with my shed/workshop design
Comments (4)You could install racking for both sides of the room, toys & clothes that aren't being used can go into large plastic containers with lids. The two bikes could be hung from the wall or ceiling. And yes, anything that doesn't need to be there, move it on. There are so many hooks and storage options available that it would be very easy to sort this out and by getting a lot of it off the floor....See MoreNeed help with kitchen design
Comments (11)Here's a couple of ideas that work really well as alternatives to a walk in pantry. They integrate into your wall cabinetry, allowing you to keep central spaces open and free flowing. Using drawers to create a pantry as Esselai suggests. Check out how Harn Triomax soft close drawers are used in just this way. Availble in classic white or metallic grey. Two front to back depth options - 500mm and 5500mm. And 8 drawer width options from 450mm to 1200mm. Alternatively, there are a number of quality pull out pantry options in the German designed and made Vauth-Sagel range. Some are installed with fixed fronts to match your cabinetry, and others are installed behind hinged doors. See below (from top to bottom) the VSA model, DUSA model and HSA model. These all come in a variety of width options and specs, from chromed wire shelves to sold bases with glass panelling....See MoreHelp with kitchen design please
Comments (0)I am planning on renovating my apartment's turn of the century kitchen. I was hoping to add cupboards above my hob and cover in the rangehood. However, there is a duct to the left of the rangehood (under the bulkhead) that can't be covered over for fire/safety reasons. I would really appreciate ideas about what might be possible, given those limitations. Many thanks....See MoreKate
