Empire Zoysia weeds

Hi,

I have just layed around 80m2 of Empire Zoysia turf around 2 weeks ago and am now seeing what looks to be weeds coming through it all over the place.

I'm trying to figure out if this is just new Empire Zoysia grass growing or if this is a weed and if so, what weed is it? and how to get rid of it.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Looks like onion weed. There isn't much you can do as the weed seed was in the ground that you laid the turf on top of.

I dug out some of the weeds and the roots were not in the under soil but in turf soil itself. so looked like they were part of the delivery

Looks like onion weed for sure, remove it as soon as you notice it coming through, before it can set seed.
