hang plastic drop sheets over all doorways and seal with tape, help with demolition by buying a cheap barrel style vacuum (under $100 and less than hiring and useful for other jobs) and suck up as much dirt as possible while the work is being done (don't use your good vacuum cleaner for cement dust and similar), sprinkle tiny splashes of cold water off your fingers over dust before sweeping or vacuuming, keep all widows and doors shut to minimise draughts and wear a mask and protective eyewear and any glasses etc that aren't needed for everyday use should be packed in boxes and unless they're also ripping up slabs of concrete there shouldn't be too much vibration but, unless you have a whole house full of floor tiles it should be manageable but the dust can take a few days to settle so don't move everything back immediately as you will probably have to clean a few times

We use a ZIPWALL to create a wall/s ( telescopic lightweight pole system ) in as many situations as possible, not a cheap, however very. very efficient, minimum dust.
