How to decorate around ugly blue and beige tiles in a rental?
Comments (28)Thanks all - our belongings arrive this week so I will have a go at transforming the space with what we have then search for new things to add. We have quite a bit of art with strong yellow colors and also a Tibetian Chest with yellows and greens. Thanks again!...See MoreDesign/decorating paralysis
Comments (3)I say yes, it is! I can relate 100%. We are building a new home, and I've been doing most of the selections & meetings. I've been looking at paint chips, rugs, fabric swatches and furniture until I'm blue in the face. I think it's ok to take a step back and not have every last loose end or finish choice buttoned up immediately. Give yourself permission to take a mental break from it and come back to it later. Good luck!...See MoreCurb appeal indecision... advice please!
Comments (91)Sorry I am so late coming to your site - you are an inspiration to all, homeowners and advisers alike. For your planting advice, I suggest you call Merrifield Garden Center to see if they will come out your way. They currently have wonderful garden centers in Merrifield and Fairfax (both in Fairfax County) and a new one in Gainesville, but they may come further south to wherever you reside. (www.MerrifieldGardenCenter.com) Even if they don't send designers to your area, they are worth a trip to see their huge selection for a day of pleasure and inspiration, or to pick up some plants. Most of my clients are in the Fairfax and greater Washington area, but I am currently living out west below Front Royal, VA on the Shenandoah mountainside - wonderful views. cascio.offsite@gmail.com...See MoreWhat is the focal point in my dining room?
Comments (14)Everyone has some valid points and so I would also recommend moving the clock to the kitchen wall and place the wall unit under the mirror. Centre with the table with the additions of some artwork each side if the clock with wooden frames to match the clock. Find a low piece of glass or pottery or a runner to tie in the grey shades. I presume u have a grey lounge suite. Change the lighting as to what was suggested by People Space ARchitects....See Moredreamer
