Using white bedding looks beautiful, luxurious fabrics like linen, you can then add a textured throw, gorgeous cushions, a rug under the bed, long pendant bedside lights, choose bedside tables that are a little different if you want to change yours, you can off centre artwork in a black and white theme, add fabulous planters for a beautiful look.

Yes you definitely need a large painting/print on the wall behind the bed. Even wallpaper would look good, if that is your preference.

window treatments will soften the room.

a large floor rug positioned half under the bed, and wide enough for feet to be on when getting out of the bed. This will add warmth and texture. The polished concrete in the bedroom makes the room appear cold and not inviting.

Add texture with light coloured Manchester, and cushions, And Throw rugs.

Light wooden side tables, with side lamps.

An upholsterd chair in the corner.

Thanks Dreamer...ah yes, the window treatments are coming. Due to the big drop (3.5m) in our bedroom and the main living/kitchen/dining areas, it's rather expensive :) Thank you for your suggestions though, really appreciate it.

Those black pot things would look fab with some textured grasses in them. I would look into a big dark artwork to match the windows and then soften with lighter grasses and accents of colour from the artwork.
