Need advice: Can you use 2 different kitchen bench top surfaces?
Comments (5)There are many examples on houzz of contrasting counters for perimeter and island. For example butcher block on island and stone on perimeter or a solid color on one and something with movement on another. I would only mix two stones if one had movement and one was fairly solid. The stainless on perimeter and something else on island sounds good to me. Here is a pic of stainless counters with what looks like a stone breakfast bar. All the best for your new build project. Kind Regards, Sophie - Blum New Zealand...See MoreAdvice for kitchen design
Comments (0)I am planning to change the island to a two-tiered one - something like this maybe? https://www.houzz.co.nz/photos/highgate-kitchen-phvw-vp~16177662 and reducing the space between island and cabinets to 1200mm (therefore increasing the depth of the island). Any ideas on how to make make the best of this space? FYI - we have a great view out the ocean on the right, so have designed a breakfast bar by the window. Thanks!...See Moremummagabz
