Comments (14)We have a 900x900 shower and it's plenty big enough. Neither of your proposed layouts looks that great, to be perfectly honest, sorry! In the first layout, you could improve it quite a lot by swapping the toilet and vanity (centre the toilet under the window on the bottom right of the picture if possible), and having the shower door on the other wall (beside the door). Then, you could have a towel rail on the wall beside the door (i.e. behind the door when it's open), which would be accessible from the shower but hidden when the door was open. An 800x1200 shower might be a good size for your space. You'd have to choose a toilet that doesn't protrude too far, plus a narrow vanity. With that layout, you could have a long but narrow wall-hung vanity, with a big mirror covering the wall between the windows, which would make the room feel bigger and would give a good amount of storage. Comments (5)Provided there is 1200mm clear between the breakfast bar and the opposite bench then by rights, you should have ample room and if that's the case, I think I would opt for the design with the kitchen on the eastern side. My reason; you get a much greater feeling of open plan by having the dining and lounge on the North/South plane. I like the large WIP in this one - on paper at least. The second plan somehow feels wrong. I personally don't like the idea of having the breakfast bar being located in the lounge. If it were me though, I would ask for a 3D CAD plan of both kitchens [to walk through on the computer] before making up my mind on which one to opt for as it gives you a much clearer vision of what the finished kitchen will be like rather than looking at a flat plan....See MoreSwimming pool fence help
Comments (0)Hi All We are getting a pool and will be using the boundary fence on one side. The boundary fence is 1.8m in height. The interior fence is 1.2m. The issue is the junction where the two fence meets. The rules is that there must be a 900mm non climable zone vertically from the top of the boundary. Where the two fences meet currently there is only 600mm clearance. Any advice would be great. How do people solve this issue? Please share your ideas and photos Thanks...See MoreRIA AY
3 years agoThanks Kate. Currently the pool, sundeck and al fresco are planned to be 1 course higher than the rear. Although we could use the material from excavating the pool to raise the garden - not an issue for retaining as neighbours are already higher, but i was thinking different levels would add some interest to the area.
As it stands with option 2, there would be 2 metres (so 3 steps) on exiting the living before you hit glass pool fence - we cant have it any more really as it interferes with getting to the back (keeping enough room to turn to the top left corner).
I was also considering this slightly modified option 2:
The pool is the same location as option 2, but incorporating the grassed side area into the pool (the black lines would be metal pool gates (doubles) that can swing open to get a car through - I dont mind manual as it wont be too frequent, once a month max.
