Living room - Colour theme query
Hello, our furniture has finally arrived for our living room :) but stuck on what colour theme to do for the cushions, throw, rug and artwork. Stuck on the final touches!
Currently there is a lot of black and grey - we were thinking to add in touches of white and taupe maybe to still keep it neutral but cozy - no idea if this will work.
Any advice would be really appreciated :)

3 years agoBeautiful room Natasha, love your furniture, I would look for a great artwork, fab cushions, great lamp adding a black feature into the look goes with the beautiful windows, something very simple and eye catching on your coffee tables... gorgeous, I love neutral colours always looks so very stylish.

Comments (43)Now it's beginning to work! Luv the rug! A few more red showstoppers, and I luv the post about matting your family pic, and larger frame for it. Looks like you might be a bit uncomfortable with the great post idea of moving your sofa out into the room away from wall. If so, could you accept putting it diagonally from the entrance doorway, across that corner where it is, stopping at the edge of your window? That's a bit of a move outward, still can see the fp and tv, and show off your new rug, which could go diagonally in front of the sofa. Then, if you like that, after a while you could move it on out as Deb K suggests. Sometimes intermediate steps are more doable for us than those big changes.Same with painting; if you could first paint just the fp wall, then later paint other walls...seems some color would really make it more homey. Comments (17)Lighting - pendants over the servery bench should be another feature that complements your chosen kitchen surfaces. So whilst I love the copper pendants in picture 1.. They could work depending on the rest of your decor and would be a highlight in a neutral white/timber kitchen = Good! If you choose copper you would complement it with a couple of copper bench top items. These are beautiful! (I collect copper because I love it, my kitchen pendants are silver, I renovated to sell in the next 3-5 years) You will see a picture starting to form in your mind and there is nothing wrong with making a statement with your lighting. I found that when I wasn't sure I would get a very strong sense of what was right and what was wrong for a space, then common sense or passion would determine the outcome! Here are another couple that might work, look her on Houzz under lighting, search pendants, then have fun looking!Timber tones with black or white to complement your cabinets... or Statement white pendants for a bit of quirky fun! Your personality can be reflected in your lighting and accessories creating that point of difference from the predictable white on timber look. 3 years agoIt looks like you have some lovely trees at window height just outside. I would not be going ho-hum neutral so it looks like a serviced apartment, but I would look at introducing some leaf green cushions and throws to visually connect with outside, expanding your space.

3 years agoHi Natasha, a beautiful vase that you can bring greenery into the room, make it as simple or ornate as you feel suits your space, I love adding different things of interest, even a branch off your tree in a vase can look amazing , have a look at Adairs they have some funky pieces at the moment.
