Installing VJ panels on brick wall

Jenny

Hi all,

I would like to install vj panels to the brick wall as shown in the picture (sorry about the mess), so that it becomes one straight wall.

I have a few questions regarding the installation. Sorry in advance if the questions seem amateur, as it is my first time doing any renovation work.

- According to the installation guide, battens / furring channels are required for ventilation. Since the brick wall is already recessed, can I just install the vj panels directly over the brick piers without the need for battens? We also have the brown wooden beam above and a row of bricks at the base (see picture) which the vj panels will sit over.

- If battens are still required, how would you recommend them to be installed?

Thank you for your help.
